Partly the development direction of Jakarta can be seen through Bappeda’s stand in Jakarta Fair.

Not all tenants in Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2010, have always been crowded by visitors. Other than being passive, the deserted stands are usually not interesting, or doesn’t have the right strategy to attract people to come.

One of stands that lack of visitors is the stand belongs to ‘Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah’ (Regional Development Planning Agency) in Hall B, DKI Jakarta Pavillion. Almost everyday, the tenant is seen almost empty. That makes the ushers there are practically vacant all the time.

Whereas at the tenant, the development plan of Jakarta until up to 2030 can be seen and enquired. Start from labor affair, transportation, to another issues of economy development.

Facing the complexity of traffic problem in Jakarta, for instance, we can check out the popular-to-be transportation system in Jakarta at Bappeda stand, it is Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). Or the mean of transportation which can quickly transport huge amount of people.

“Furthermore, there are still many information that we provide here. Including the reduction of unemployment issue, economy development, until the social issues handling,” said by Aulia Azhar, one of the ushers at Bappeda stand.

Overall, according to Aulia, the Bappeda stand provides information to society about recent developments in Jakarta. And the future developments as well, including whole spatial and regional planning of Jakarta
